Interview: Dr. Jade Singleton & Andrea Ommen (Copy)

I sat down with Dr. Jade Singleton, founder of IKONI Collective, a wellness service and coaching practice dedicated and tailored to the needs of Black women to talk about hiring and retention conversations with leaders in companies who say they want to hire and retain Black women. We talked about how to discern when actions are performative or genuine, what to listen for when you’re working with a leader who really cares about making an inclusive environment and equity in hiring, and how companies can actually attract Black women by offering psychological safety and forcing leaders to examine their own biases in hiring and promotion.
